AscendZ is made by one person, so your email goes to someone who can actually fix the problem. Write to support@corefeaturelab.com and you will get a reply within two working days.

It helps to include your iOS version, your iPhone model, and what you did just before the problem appeared. A screenshot is worth more than a description. If you use Send feedback inside the app, your app version and iOS version are added for you.

Common questions

How does a streak count?

A streak belongs to a goal, not to a single habit. A day counts once every daily habit under that goal is done. If a goal has only weekly habits, any tick that day counts. Today joins the streak once it is done, and until then the streak still shows your run up to yesterday. That is why one goal can be on a long run while another starts again.

I forgot to tick something yesterday

On Today, tap the day in This week, or open Week and tap the day. On Plus you can also tap it in Month. You can edit today and the six days before it. Older days are read-only, on purpose, because a tracker you can rewrite freely stops telling you anything.

I missed a day and do not want to lose the streak

You have two streak freezes per calendar month. Open the day you missed and tap Use a streak freeze. It works on a missed day within the last seven, and it keeps every streak alive through that day. Unused freezes do not roll over to the next month, so they run out if you lean on them. Tap Remove freeze to get one back.

What is a cheat day in a challenge?

When you start a challenge you choose how many cheat days it has. These are days you can miss without ending the run. Two is the default, and you can pick anything from 0 to 30. Miss a day with none left and the challenge ends. A streak freeze also covers a challenge day. The 3-day challenge from first-run setup comes with one.

Can I tick a habit without opening the app?

Yes. On iOS 17 and later, AscendZ adds a Tick a habit action to the Shortcuts app, so you can run it from Siri, Spotlight, the Action Button or Back Tap. For the Action Button, open Settings, then Action Button, choose Shortcut, then AscendZ. On iOS 18 and later there is also a Today widget whose boxes tick your habits. Ticking a habit this way is free.

Running Tick a habit on a habit that is already done unticks it. These work from what the app saved for today, so if you have not opened AscendZ since yesterday they say Open AscendZ. Open it once and they work again.

Does AscendZ work on iPad, iPhone Duo and sideways?

Yes. Every iPhone can now turn sideways, and upright looks the same as before. On iPad, AscendZ runs full screen. On a wide screen, such as an iPad, an open iPhone Duo or a large iPhone held sideways, you get two pages side by side: your list on the left and Week, Month and Year on the right.

On the iPhone Duo in book pose, the two pages meet at the hinge and nothing you tap sits in the crease. In tabletop pose, half folded and standing, the week sits on the top half and today on the flat half. If you want the app to stay upright, turn on Portrait Orientation Lock in Control Center.

My buddy cannot see my habit

Your buddy sees only the habits you share with them. You pick habits, not goals. Open their page to see what you share. If you removed a habit, your buddy cannot see it until you restore it. If you stopped sharing a habit and shared it again, they see it from that day on. Either of you can remove the other as a buddy, which ends every share. Pull down on Buddy to refresh.

What is a stake, and how do I remove or report one?

A stake is one line you put on the shared streak with a buddy, such as "Loser buys dinner". Either of you can add, change or remove it, and you both see the same line. AscendZ enforces nothing and no money moves through the app.

To change or remove one, open your buddy's page, tap the stake and choose Remove stake. If your buddy wrote a stake you do not want, tap it and choose Report, add a line about what is wrong and tap Send. To stop seeing someone at all, open their page, tap the pencil and choose Remove. My widget is showing old numbers

Widgets show what the app last wrote. The app updates them as soon as something changes, and they move on at midnight by themselves. A tick on the Today widget shows there at once and reaches the app the next time you open AscendZ. If the app has not been opened since yesterday, the Today widget says Open AscendZ. Open the app once and every widget catches up. If one still looks stale, remove the widget and add it again.

My reminders are not arriving

Habit reminders are set on each habit: edit the habit in Habits and turn on Remind me. The evening check-in, the morning quote and buddy alerts are in Profile, under Notifications. If that sheet says notifications are off, tap Open Settings and allow them for AscendZ.

Reminders are planned a week ahead on your phone, so they pause after seven days without opening the app and come back when you open it. Focus can also filter them.

My notifications come without a sound or banner

If iOS has not asked you about notifications yet, AscendZ sends them quietly to Notification Center. Profile shows this as Quiet (Notification Center) next to Notifications. To get banners and sounds, turn on a switch in Profile, then Notifications, and iOS asks you. You can also change it in iOS Settings, under Notifications, then AscendZ.

Why do I get messages after a few days away?

If you have not opened AscendZ for a while, the evening check-in sends a short message on days 1, 2, 3, 5 and 7 away. After day 7 nothing more comes until you open the app. To stop these, open Profile, tap Notifications and turn off Evening check-in. That also turns off the nightly check-in.

The app looks different. Can I go back to the old look?

1.4 brings a new look to every screen, in light and dark. The screens, the places and the words are the same as before, and there is no setting for the old look. You can choose Light or Dark in Profile, under Appearance. Until you choose, AscendZ follows your iPhone's own setting.

I signed in with Apple and my email is missing

Sign in with Apple can create an account with no email address stored. If yours has none, Account in Profile says Signed in with Apple and shows an Add an email card. Enter an address, then the code we send to it. With an email on the account, you can always get back in.

Does AscendZ work offline?

Yes. Your habits live on your phone, so you can open the app and tick without a connection. Changes sync when you are back online. A few things need a connection: buddies, the coach, Erase history and signing out.

AscendZ Plus

What is free and what is Plus?

Everything that protects a streak is free: goals, habits, reminders, the Today and Week views, challenges, buddies, and the home screen widgets except the goal countdown. The free plan holds up to three active goals and three questions to the coach in total.

AscendZ Plus removes the goal limit, adds to-do goals, opens the coach, adds the Month and Year views with every past challenge, weekly reads, all your results in Finished and the goal countdown widget, and starts each morning with a short quote. On the free plan, Month and Year show up as a preview after you have logged 7 days.

What does it cost?

There are three ways to buy it: monthly, yearly, or one payment for life. The price for your country is shown on the offer page inside the app, and Apple charges it through your App Store account. The yearly plan starts with 7 days free if you have not had a trial before, and we remind you on day 5, before anything is charged, with a notification and a card on Today.

How do I cancel?

Subscriptions are managed by Apple, not by us. Open Profile, tap your plan and choose Manage subscription, or on your iPhone open Settings, tap your name, then Subscriptions. Cancel at least one day before the renewal date. You keep Plus until the period you have already paid for ends. The lifetime plan is a single payment, so there is nothing to cancel.

I paid but I do not have Plus

Open Profile and tap Restore purchases at the bottom of the AscendZ Plus card. It is also at the bottom of the offer page. That asks the App Store for anything bought with your Apple ID and puts it back, and it is also what to use on a new phone. If it still finds nothing, write in with the date of the purchase and it will be sorted out.

Refunds

Apple takes the payment, so Apple handles refunds. Ask for one at reportaproblem.apple.com with the Apple ID that bought it. Write in as well if something in the app was the reason, because that is a bug worth fixing.

Can I move from monthly or yearly to lifetime?

Yes. Open Profile, tap AscendZ Plus, then Switch to lifetime. Lifetime is a separate one-off purchase, so cancel the subscription with Apple afterwards, otherwise it keeps renewing beside it. The app reminds you of this right after you buy. During a free trial the switch is not offered there; pick Lifetime on the offer page instead.

Plus is free for me and I never paid

Founding members, who made an account by 24 September 2026, keep every Plus feature for life at no cost. Profile shows Free for life under AscendZ Plus. There is nothing to buy and nothing to renew.

Deleting your account

Tap your profile circle to open Profile. At the bottom, under Account, tap Delete account. Type delete and tap Delete account again. This deletes your account and everything in it, on this phone and on our server: goals, habits, completions, challenges, buddy connections and shares, and any feedback you sent. It happens at once, cannot be undone and does not need anyone's approval.

Deleting your account does not cancel a subscription, because Apple holds it and not us. Cancel it with Apple first, or it keeps renewing after the account is gone. If you are on a trial or a subscription, the delete screen reminds you and has a Manage subscription link.

Bugs and feature requests

Both are welcome at the same address, or inside the app: open Profile and tap Send feedback, or tap Something not working? under Help to write an email. AscendZ is built around one idea, the streak you do not want to break, so requests that protect that get built first and requests that add surface usually do not get built at all. You will get a straight answer either way.

Privacy

What AscendZ stores and who processes it is set out in the privacy policy. There are no ads in the app and no tracking across other apps or websites, and the anonymous usage statistics never include anything you write.
